This study was documented in 1989 by Anderson Craig. The study's hypothesis was to establish heat's effect on human violence. The study outlines five models of the temperature aggression hypothesis. The outlined hypothesis in the study includes excitation transfer misattribution, simple negative effect, cognitive neo-association, negative effect escape, and psychological thermoregulatory. The sample populations for the study were normal people from various geographic regions. Studies were conducted per the hypothesis of the five outlined hypotheses. The independent variable in the study was temperature, while the dependent variables were Aggression and human violence. The study adopted a qualitative research design approach. The independent variable in the study, the temperature, was measured across various geographic regions, while the dependent variable, Aggression, was measured by monitoring the behavior of individuals within the various geographical areas. The study demonstrated a significant relationship between temperature, human violence, and Aggression. However, the study never incorporated live sample data to give a general and average estimate of the behavior of the sample population, either violently or aggressively, depending on the temperature. The study was relevant to the main hypothesis of study within this research paper.

Anderson and Bushman conducted a review study in 2002 on human Aggression. The review focused on associating cognition, affect, and arousal with mediating the various effects of personological and situational variables on Aggression. They engaged in an insightful review of various theories related to the development and persistence of the personality of Aggression. According to the review provided by Anderson and Bushman, the conceptualization of personality is presented as a set of stable structures or conformation of knowledge that individuals use within their social world to guide their behavior. The review conducted by Anderson and Bushman employed the General Aggression Model (GAM). In this case, the independent variable per the review was Aggression, while personal and situational factors were the dependent variables. Instead of using a live sample in data collection, the review employed the General Aggression Model (GAM) to integrate the existing mini-theories around Aggression. The General Aggression Model considered both the independent and dependent variables in association with existing mini-theories on Aggression to establish the relationship between aggression and personological and situational variables. Under the two dependent variables incorporated within the GAM analysis, some sub-aspects were established, and their relationship with Aggression was determined. Under the personal factors, there were a review of sex, traits, attitude, beliefs, long-term goals, and attitudes to Aggression. Under situational factors, the review focused on aggressive cues, frustration, provocation, drugs, pain and discomfort, and incentives and their relationship to aggressiveness. The review design adopted a qualitative approach rather than a quantitative approach. The review's outcome associated aggressiveness with the two independent variables with the internal states of cognition, affect, and arousal. The use of factor analysis was used to establish the inferences presented. However, the study failed to incorporate the use of live data; instead, it sued already established research and various aggression mini-theories. This adoption may affect the relevancy of the findings. In future studies, it is necessary to incorporate both live data and data from other sources, such as research, to ensure maximum accountability. The review study is relevant to the hypothesis of the association of heat with Aggression since it outlines both personological and situational variables in association with Aggression.
